Water Damage Documentation

When water damage professionals talk about documentation they are primarily
referring to daily moisture test readings. Typically, these readings are noted on a drawing
of the room where they were taken. In addition, technicians often document where
equipment was placed including the direction of air flow from fans where dehumidifiers
are located.

Moisture tests and rH (relative humidity) are recorded for homeowners as well as insurance adjusters.
These tests act as the data justifying the placement of equipment. Documentation should
be available upon request from a reputable water damage company.

This documentation allows the adjusters, claims handlers and insured to see how the drying process progressed during the dry-out phase of a loss.
