Does your carpet cleaner care?

It never ceases to amaze us that people who call themselves professional carpet cleaners never seem to use all the tools provided to them in order to keep their customers homes protected from damage.

For instance, did you know there are tools carpet cleaners can use to keep your cool air from blowing out the door while hoses are running out to the truck? These are called door guards and yes they take a minute or two to setup but its one way to know if your cleaning company cares. Basically, a door guard is a balloon like tool that blocks the door opening that the hoses cause while cleaning.

Not only do door guards keep cool air from escaping the home (or warm air in the winter) they also help safeguard from unwanted insects flying into the home during your professional carpet cleaning. In addition, they help protect against intruders if your cleaning is at night for commercial carpet cleaning.

In our next post we will discuss how your walls are protected from unwanted damage from hoses.

  1. Ash, thanks for the info. We cover our carpet cleaning customers’ doors here in Nashville TN with a 4×15 foot painters drop-cloth with a shower curtain rod at the top of the door jam. By doing so, we’re able to open both the storm door and the inner-door wide open for easy access, temperature control and less bugs. I’ve seen those balloon-type door covers at jondon, but haven’t changed our process because it’s cheap, simple and works!

  3. I found this article whilst looking for other information on carpet cleaning however I have to agree with the author, there are far too many people out there claiming to be professional carpet cleaners when in actual fact they are just amateurs who cause more damamge than necessary with chemicals they dont understand etc!

Thanks for the information Ash. I never really know about this, good thing you made this blog for us to be aware of what to expect from our carpet cleaning services. It is very important that if we pay them right they should also give us the right and just service that we deserve.
